1st Day High (Recruitment Day)

Date: July 28, 2025

ALPHA’s active participation in STI’s First Day High 2025 turned Opening Day into a dynamic showcase of the organization’s new identity, interactive games, and recruitment efforts. The event successfully welcomed new students into the ALPHA community while highlighting the group’s focus on technology, creativity, and collaboration.

Held on July 28 during STI Opening Day 2025, First Day High served as the official start of the school year and a platform for student organizations to present themselves to incoming and returning students. ALPHA (Alliance of Leading Programmers through Heuristic Adaptation) maximized this opportunity by setting up an eye‑catching booth and engaging visitors throughout the day.

During the event, ALPHA proudly unveiled its new logo and refreshed visual identity through banners, tarpaulins, and signage around the booth area. The updated design helped the organization stand out in the venue, reinforcing its rebranding efforts and making it easier for students to recognize ALPHA as the home organization for ICT and programming enthusiasts.

To attract and entertain visitors, the ALPHA booth featured interactive games such as the ALPHA Keyboard Typing Test and the Lemon Coin Game. These games encouraged students to test their typing speed, coordination, and focus while creating a fun and competitive atmosphere around the booth. Small prizes and the lively setup motivated more participants to join, turning the booth into a consistent hotspot of energy and laughter during First Day High.

The booth also highlighted ALPHA’s online presence by allowing new students to explore the official ALPHA website using laptops stationed at the booth. Through these devices, interested students could immediately sign up as members or even apply as officers, streamlining recruitment and demonstrating ALPHA’s use of technology in its own organizational processes.

By the end of the day, ALPHA had met numerous fresh faces, gathered new sign‑ups, and sparked interest among students who were eager to learn more about programming, tech events, and organizational leadership. The First Day High participation marked the beginning of another exciting chapter for ALPHA, strengthening its visibility on campus and setting the tone for a year of building, leading, and adapting together with its new members.

IT Olympics UMAK 2025

Date: November 21, 2025

The participation of STI Orticas-Cainta students in the UMAK IT Skills Olympics (ITSO) provided a meaningful competitive and learning experience, even though the original programme of activities was not fully followed and the team did not secure any awards. Despite schedule changes and the cancellation of the e‑sports events, the delegates gained valuable exposure to a large‑scale interschool IT competition.

The representative participants arrived very early at the University of Makati, anticipating the 6:00–8:00 AM registration and the scheduled parade and ceremonies. However, due to adjustments by the host institution, the actual start of the event was moved, and the program formally began around 8:00-9:00 AM with the opening activities and announcements of events.

According to the official programme, multiple contests such as IT Quiz Bee, Android Apps, Cybersecurity, Web Design, and other IT disciplines were set to run from mid‑morning to the afternoon, alongside an E‑Sports: ML & COD tournament. On the day itself, the e‑sports segment (Mobile Legends and Call of Duty) was cancelled due to technical issues, which prevented STI’s e‑sports participants from competing as planned. The STI e‑sports participants (for Mobile Legends and Call of Duty) went back after confirming that the e‑sports event was cancelled since they no longer had any matches to compete in

The event exposed the STI students to the standards and atmosphere of a university‑level IT skills olympics, including how large‑scale competitions are organized, judged, and executed. The early call time, schedule changes, and technical setbacks also taught the participants adaptability and professionalism, reinforcing the importance of preparation, patience, and sportsmanship in both academic and co‑curricular engagements.

This concludes the first semester.
